The Position:
We are looking for a Technical Writer to produce clear, effective documentation that is accurate, professional and has the user’s perspective on the product in mind. You will join the Engineering team and work collaboratively to develop and produce aesthetic, easy-to-use, technically accurate assembly instructions, user manuals, installation instructions, tutorials, help/support instructions and marketing content. We utilize SolidWorks to create our Engineering drawings, you will have to work with these files.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with internal teams (Engineering, Assembly, Support, Marketing) to obtain an in-depth understand of our products and documentation requirements.
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for it’s intended audience (whether assembly personnel, architects or designers, fixture installers, etc). 
  • Write, produce and maintain easy to follow, Assembly Instructions, User Manuals and Installation Instructions.
  • Write easy-to-understand help/support instructions that are technically accurate and can be utilized for FAQs.
  • Create tutorials to help end-users properly install and trouble-shoot products.
  • Analyze existing content and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities. 
  • Create and maintain the information architecture. 

Required experience & qualifications:
  • Proven working experience in technical writing of product documentation. 
  • Ability to deliver high-quality documentation while paying attention to detail. 
  • Able to read/review/edit Engineering drawings - familiarity with Solid Works or CAD programs a must.
  • Ability to quickly grasp Mechanical and Electronic Engineering concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures. 
  • Excellent written skills in English
  • Strong knowledge of software applications, such as Word Power Point and Adobe Master Suite or Creative Cloud.
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent preferred for this position.

Drug Free Workplace:
We are a Florida Drug Free Workplace. The company requires all employees to complete a pre-employment 10 panel drug screen; employment status will be dependent on ability to pass this screening and partake on a quarterly random screen.

Hours, compensation and benefits:
Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00PM. We have one hour for lunch from 12pm to 1pm. 
Salary for this position begins at $40,000 annual compensation, negotiable based on experience.
